From the New York Times/The Athletic: In a rematch of last year’s American League Wild Card Series, the New York Yankees will host the Boston Red Sox in a best-of-three set beginning Tuesday. The Yankees (93-68) finished second in the AL East with the Red Sox (87-74) right behind them, giving them the fourth and fifth seeds, respectively, in the AL playoff field. New York edged Boston, 7-6, in the season series. The wild-card winner will advance to the Division Series and travel to the Tampa Bay Rays (97-63), who posted the best record in the AL.
